Amy

“Amy” is a 31 year old mother of two awesome boys, Casey 12 and Brayden 8! I grew up fast in Salt Lake, a little defiant, definitely independent, and moving out at age 15 started me on the “adult road” nice and early. I went to school at Taylorsville and CottonwoodHigh! I was married at 19 and that lasted against all teenage odds, at least to the ten year mark, and through a lot of trials and “life”, I have since moved on.  Currently I am on the afternoons monday through saturday, as an on-air DJ at X94, and have for the last  four years, I am blessed and honestly amazed to have a place on the airwaves! I am the production manager and help with the on-air staff, I update the sweepers and keep it all sounding current and smokin hot! Here is how radio started for me-are you ready for this...
Just about five years ago I had decided it was time to go back to school, to try and figure out what I was going to do with my life, career-wise! I started by going to USU, taking general classes, and initially I was interested in teaching elementary age children, what the hell was I thinking! Kids-day in day out-almost 30 of the little knee bitters, too much! I then began to steer in the direction of nursing, I love science, love the human body, would entirely love the daily challenges that the medical field would bring and that is the direction I was heading. Little did I know my future was about to reveal itself! Just weeks away from the dissecting time in my anatomy class (which I was SO looking forward to) my student council duties called and I was asked by Bob Peterson to go to the X94 studio and promote a turkey bowling event that we were to put on at the college!  So off  I went, made my way to the station, talked live about it with Charlie and Kyle (at the time) and just a couple days later I was getting a call saying they thought I had a voice for radio, and they wanted to know if I would come back to record some holiday commercials! Just like that... my awesome job in radio began!
I'm still learning and growing, it just happens to be with everyone listening, good or bad there it is! The support I have received at the station by so many has been flippin amazing and I appreciate it tremendously! Whether the support comes in the form of just having you tune in and listen, or calling and requesting a song, or asking ME to come up with a song for YOU to help make “your” day better, meeting you at station events or at live remotes! I appreciate all of it, and I still am just astonished that this is where I am! “ Life” has taken many twists and turns for me, but each one good or bad, got me here, and I like here!
