Charlie Hall, Owner, General Manager & On-Air DJ
Born in American Fork, Married 25 Years ago, Attended Orem High, Attended Utah Valley Technical College
I started in broadcasting at Orem Highs radio station at which time I received a scholarship in electrical engineering and broadcasting engineering. I got my first professional radio job when I was a junior in school working at KFTN AM and FM working for Singer, Bill Anderson, doing weekends. From that position I moved up the ladder to the 6 to Midnight shift, to mid-days, to afternoons to mornings. I started doing the programming, which duties included reporting to R & R Cashbox and Billboard Magazines. I worked in Salt Lake City at KRGO doing afternoons, then KSOP. I did once work in the basin area before when I was hard up for a radio Job at KNEW.(sorry about that) I like the fact that we do everything at X94 from here, locally. We don’t pipe anything in with the small exception of some news clips. We choose the music, we program what we think is right for our area and we love to be LIVE and LOCAL!! I built my first station, 92.7, along the Wasatch front then, 98.7, in Central Utah, built, 103.9, along the Wasatch front and then from there to, 94.3 KXRQ, which is now Channel X94. I am married to Diane and have 4 awesome children, along with 2 sons-in-law; Natasha who is married to Brenden, Justin, Annie who is married to Morgan, and my youngest Ryan. Don’t forget about my dog Sunshine. Family is the most important thing to me. You will never see me without one of my family members tagging along. I love to hunt anything, but especially geese. Fishing is my favorite, especially for MACS(my biggest is 41lbs.) My favorite food is Elk Back Strap. Come in to the office and see the pictures or let’s go hunt em’. I support most all the wildlife organizations. I love the basin area and am so glad to call it my home. I love radio and having our station here in the Uintah Basin. Send me some PICTURES OF YOUR HUNTS OR DOING OUTDOORS STUFF. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM. email@example.com
Hey, I’m Annalee….but you already know that because it’s not like you clicked this link looking for Charlie, McCall, or Tiny right? So, what’s my story? I’m an Alaska girl at heart and if I were to win a whole lot of money in a lottery, I could move back there in a heartbeat. I’m the oldest of 4 kids and related to what feels like about half of the people living in Vernal. I don’t have a middle name, because my parents knew I was going to be the perfect child, and we all know that the real purpose of a child’s middle name is so they know when they are truly in trouble. (My brother and sisters ALL have middle names, so point proven.) To this day, I have yet to figure out how my kid keeps getting older while I’ve managed to stay 29. I speak 3 languages fluently: English, Sarcasm and Innuendo, but I also frequently speak in movie quotes or song lyrics. Speaking of music, I play 6 instruments and listen to ALL kinds of music. Obviously I love rock and pop and spend most of the day with my radio tuned to Channel X94 or X106.9. I was 23 years old before I went to a concert that wasn’t classical or jazz and I don’t feel ripped off about that at all. In fact, my go to genre is almost always big band jazz and my all time favorite song is Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture…the full 15 minute piece, performed with a full orchestra and cannons. I spent 5 years volunteering for the Relay For Life where I met some of the coolest people I’ve ever met in my entire life. It’s also how I got started working here, so I’d say it was 5 years well spent. Now in my spare time, I’m the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network ACT Lead for Utah Congressional District 1. What’s that mean? Well, basically it means if there’s something going on that relates to cancer in any way on a State or National level, I get to tell our elected officials how they should vote on it. I guess it’s kind of the start of my political career. (Just kidding, I don’t want a political career!) Before this starts to sound even more like a bad online dating profile, and trust me, I’ve seen some real winners, I’m going to wrap it up with this: I love this Channel X94 family and all of our amazing listeners. You rock, and I love your texts, your phone calls and your emails. But seriously, your emails are probably one of my favorite parts of the morning show, so if you want to be part of it, send your wild, crazy (I don’t even care if they’re real or made up) emails and burning questions to firstname.lastname@example.org, and remember: If you can’t be good, be good at it.
I’m 20 years old and am originally from Tremonton, Utah but now live in Vernal. I’m the afternoon DJ so I’m on from 2-6 weekdays.. Honestly I’m really grateful to be in this position, like especially at 20 because there isn’t any job I would ever want more than this one. It’s always been my ULTIMATE dream job because I just LOVE music. I was raised always listening to music and playing the “Name That Tune” game. I was also raised to chase my dreams and never give up, so here I am. :)
I have a rather eclectic taste in music and some of my favorite artists include Panic! at the Disco, Jack Johnson, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kid Cudi, White Tie Affair, and Fall Out Boy.
I also enjoy long walks on the beaches I’ve never been on, cliff jumping is something I also enjoy with my larger than life fear of heights, and laundry…. Okay not really, but honestly I love to meet new people, and go on spontaneous trips to random places, and I LOVE to be happy. I believe life is a great adventure and you should never stop exploring. :)
The End :)
