Billie Eilish warned fans that US president-elect Donald Trump is “someone who hates women” at her latest concert in Nashville, Tennessee.

Last night (October 6), Eilish performed to a 20,000-capacity crowd at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Onstage, Eilish held back tears as she addressed the fallout from the 2024 US presidential election, which saw Trump defeating Democratic Party opponent Kamala Harris.

She told the crowd: “Waking up this morning, I kinda couldn’t fathom doing a show on this day. But.. the longer the day went on I kinda had this feeling of it’s such a privilege I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time that…”, she pauses before continuing, “I just love you so much and I want you to know that you’re safe with me. You’re protected here and you’re safe in this room.”

Later on, before performing ‘Your Power’ – a track taken from 2021’s ‘Happier Than Ever’ – for the first time, she introduces it as a song about “the abuse that exists in this world upon women.”

She then says: “Someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the President. This song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you.”

Right after ‘Your Power’, Eilish debuted a cover of The Beatles‘ ‘Yesterday’, matching the original song’s downbeat acoustic arrangement with backup vocals by her band.

Earlier this week (October 4), prior to the election results, Eilish urged fans to vote for Harris: “Times are really scary and a lot is at stake. I know that if you’re in this room and you support me, you support women and I hope that you will vote for Kamala Harris,” the 22-year-old said in a TikTok video uploaded by the US Democratic Party.

After the results were shared, Eilish posted an Instagram Story, writing: “It’s a war on women”.

Eilish has endorsed Harris before. Back in September, she and her brother Finneas shared a video to promote National Voter Registration Day and revealed that they would be voting for the Democratic candidate and her running mate, Tim Waltz, “because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy.”

After the endorsement, Harris’ campaign released an ad that featured Eilish’s 2018 single ‘When the Party’s Over’, highlighting the negative impact of Roe v. Wade’s reversal on reproductive rights across the US.

Last month, Eilish said in an interview that she would “feel safe as a woman” in America if Harris was elected, adding that the upcoming vote is “the most important election of our time”.
