The likes of Billy Corgan, James Iha, Falling in Reverse‘s Ronnie Radke and more were in attendance at Marilyn Manson‘s birthday party.

The controversial musician celebrated his 56th birthday on January 5 with an intimate party held at what appeared to be a bar or restaurant. Various photos and video clips of the night were shared on Instagram by Vanessa Alexandra – one of Manson’s friends – as well as the Marylin Manson fan account @marilynmanson.gallery.

In one video, a crowd of invited guests take a moment to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the musician. He also took a moment to thank everyone for coming and shared that he will be 4 years sober a month from now.

Corgan and his Smashing Pumpkins bandmate Iha’s appearance at the party may come as a surprise. Both Manson and Corgan were once involved in a long-running feud after ‘The Beautiful People’ singer told the ‘1979’ hitmaker that he resembled Charlie Brown. However, in 2014, it seemed that the two had made amends after Manson joined the Smashing Pumpkins on stage in London.

Other attendees included Motley Crüe guitarist John 5, American photographer Joseph Cultice – who directed the Manson documentary Dead to the World and the singer’s music video for ‘Apple of Sodom’ and is the photographer behind Manson’s ‘Mechanical Animals’ album artwork – Richard Patrick (Filter, Nine Inch Nails) Director Bill Yukich, musician Wednesday 13 and more.

In recent years, Manson has faced numerous sexual assault lawsuits and accusations starting with allegations made by actress and Manson’s ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood back in 2021. Wood publicly accused Manson, of abuse – claiming that he started grooming her when she was a teenager and “horrifically abused me for years”.

Game Of Thrones star Esme Bianco also came forward with allegations against Manson. She claimed that the singer’s alleged abuse (occurring between 2009 and 2011) had made her “[feel] like a prisoner”. Months later, the actress formally filed a lawsuit against both Warner and his business, Marilyn Manson Records, Inc.

The lawsuit alleged sexual assault, physical abuse and human trafficking. Warner has denied all allegations, calling the claims “horrible distortions of reality”.

In 2022, the controversial musician – took legal action against the Wood and filed a defamation lawsuit. Manson denied all allegations and claimed in a lawsuit that Wood “recruited, coordinated, and pressured” women to make false statements about the musician. Wood responded at the time that she was “not scared” of Manson’s defamation lawsuit, adding that “this is part of the retaliation that keeps survivors quiet”. The case’s key claims were dismissed in May of last year.

However, In November 2024, the singer dropped the defamation lawsuit against Wood and any related appeal. According to legal documents (per Rolling Stone), Warner has agreed to pay Wood nearly US$327,000 in attorneys’ fees.

As for Bianco’s lawsuit, back in January 2023, it was dropped with both parties reaching a settlement out of court. The exact terms of the agreement are unknown.

Last year, Bianco hit out at Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón over what she described as the “mishandled” rape allegations against Warner.

She said the last four years of waiting for the prosecutor to make a decision over the allegations was “absolute agony”, adding that she has had to “hound” the District Attorney’s office for updates. In October 2024, Gascón revealed that their investigations into the musician were under review by the office’s Sex Crimes Division.

After the accusations came to light, Manson was dropped by his record label, Loma Vista. He has since been signed to Nuclear Blast Records and released his first album ‘One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1’ under his new label home in November 2024.

In other news, Channel 4 recently announced details of a new Marilyn Manson documentary, which explores his rise to fame and allegations of abuse.

Marilyn Manson: Unmasked is set to air on Channel 4 between Monday January 13 and Wednesday January 15. The documentary is structured as three episodes and is set to show how the controversial musician rose to prominence, as well as the accusations of abuse that have come to light in recent times.
