Robbie Williams secured his 15th Number One album with the Better Man soundtrack, which has tied him with The Beatles.

Williams currently holds the record as the solo artist with the most UK Number One albums. Now, with his 15th Number One record, he is in the same range as The Beatles’ record.

The ‘Rock DJ’ has a total of 20 chart-topping UK albums across his solo work as well as his work as part of the 90s pop group Take That. The slew of chart-topping UK albums ranks him behind The Beatles’ Paul McCartney, who has a cool 22 chart-topping UK albums (Beatles, Wings, solo and with his late wife Linda McCartney).

Speaking about the achievement in a press release, Williams shared: “Thank you to everyone who has supported the album and the movie. What a huge honour it is to get my 15th UK Number One album. A special thank you to all my fans, whose support I never take for granted. I’m so proud of the film Better Man so to have the soundtrack album reach Number One makes it even more special.”

The ‘Better Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)’ featured tracks such as ‘Feel’, ‘Angels’, ‘Come Undone’, ‘Rock DJ’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and more. The song ‘Forbidden Road’ was written specially for the film and was featured on the soundtrack as the closing track.

In a three-star review of Williams’ biopic – which was directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) and sees the singer depicted as a CGI monkey and tells his life story – NME shared: “This is ‘Rudebox’ on film: some of it good, some of it very bad, all of it a bit of a mess. Still, the monkey musical is a big swing that no-one else would have taken. You can’t fault the chutzpah or the ambition. If it makes back its reported budget, we’ll eat $110m worth of bananas.”

Elsewhere, later this summer, the ‘Angels’ hitmaker is set to embark on a string of shows across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Check out a full list of dates below and visit here to purchase tickets.

In other news, Williams recently recalled receiving texts from a number of famous faces following Better Man hitting cinemas.

“Because of the length of these things that I’m getting, I know that it’s doing something incredibly special. And I will name drop… texts came from Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block and Jon Bon Jovi,” he said in a recent interview with Nicki Chapman on Magic Radio. “I have been receiving texts and emails from people every day. And it’s truly special.”

The singer also spoke to NME as part of a new interview last month, and responded to reports that Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi would be appearing on a track from his new “guitar rock” record. Check out the video interview above.
