LCD Soundsystem appear to be teasing an upcoming London show with a series of projections. See the posts below.

The new promos have popped up in Shoreditch, east London. One of the graphics is projected onto Shoreditch High Street Station, with a second appearing on a graffiti-covered wall of the nearby Euro Car Park.

“You are here (again),” the teasers read, above the lightning bolt official logo of DFA Records – the independent label co-founded by LCD frontman James Murphy in 2001.

The NYC band displayed similar projections – minus the “(again)” – in the same locations in 2022, shortly before announcing a residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

It is therefore likely that Muphy and co. will be confirming a live appearance in the capital soon. LCD Soundsystem headlined All Points East 2024 in London last summer, following a major Pyramid Stage slot at Glastonbury Festival.

The group have not yet played any live shows in 2025, after wrapping up their run of ‘Winter Function’ dates in New York last December. However, they recently announced a US headline tour for this spring ahead of their slots at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and We Love Green in Paris.

Late last year, LCD Soundsystem shared a new single called ‘X-Ray Eyes’. In a press release about their forthcoming Primavera performance, it was revealed that the band would be releasing a new album in 2025.

Murphy later posted an update about the progress on the upcoming record, writing: “So there’s a new LCD song called ‘X-Ray Eyes’. It’s the first single of what’s shaping up to be a new LCD Soundsystem album.

“Don’t ask me when that is, because we are still working on it. But it feels very good to be putting out new music.”

The frontman went on to reiterate that “there is no finished LP yet”, adding: “But when we are not playing shows, it’s getting closer and closer to completion. So that’s the news. Anything else you hear is bullshit speculation.”

‘X-Ray Eyes’ marked the first new material from LCD – aside from the standalone ‘New Body Rhumba’ from Noah Baumbach’s 2022 film White Noise – since their 2017 comeback album ‘American Dream’, which itself ended a seven-year break following 2010’s ‘This Is Happening’.

In a five-star review of LCD Soundsystem’s set at Glastonbury 2024, NME wrote: “The packed-out Pyramid field hold each other tight and reach for the sky as LCD’s 10 song masterclass naturally ends with ‘All My Friends’. This song and this moment are the manifestation of Glastonbury at its best, the memories in the making and the good times still to come: ‘And if the sun comes up and I still don’t wanna stagger home, then it’s the memory of our betters that are keeping us on our feet.’ That’s how it starts.
