Gene Simmons has delivered the weather report for a Los Angeles news station, which included numerous Kiss references, a quick rap and tap dancing from the bassist – check out the full clip below.
On Thursday (March 13), the Kiss icon joined Los Angeles TV station Fox 11 to deliver the weather alongside meteorologist Adam Krueger. Upon being introduced, Simmons immediately told Krueger that he looks “much better in real life than you do on TV”, before going on to discuss the weather.
Krueger dropped in a few Kiss references throughout the forecast such as: “There’s been a lot of rain lately, and the rain you drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy talking about this rain”. Recognising the reference to ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’, Simmons responded: “Hey, I wrote that. I like that.”
At the end of the forecast, Krueger told Simmons that it was time to wrap, but the bassist mistook the cue and began rapping “If you go to 7/11, go to heaven” before receiving a round of applause and laughter from the crew in the studio, adding in a quick tap dance.

Simmons’ short stint as a weatherman comes after he recently auctioned off the chance for a fan to be his “personal assistant and band roadie” for the day. ‘The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience’ gives a fan the opportunity to help with load-in at the venue, stage set-up, and the ability to sit in on the sound check and hang out backstage.
Simmons will also join the fan for a meal, and introduce the roadie during the show. But it comes at a hefty price at $12,495 (£9,667) in addition to the original ticket price, with a bass guitar that was previously used during a Kiss rehearsal, thrown in.
Elsewhere, Simmons recently responded to critics of his involvement in the recent Ronald Reagan biopic, saying he “doesn’t give a squat”. The bassist and singer recorded a cover of Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler’s 1933 standard ‘Stormy Weather’ for Reagan, which was directed by Sean McNamara and released in the US in August.
“Everybody’s entitled to an opinion,” he said. “It falls off your back… I think it is the bastion of a certain political leaning of the thing, but that’s okay. [Outspoken Donald Trump supporter] Jon Voight and I hang out, we trade stories and everything else, and some people agree with his politics, some not. But everybody gives to charity, everybody loves children, and so think about the stuff that we agree with instead of the stuff that we don’t.”
