Pete Doherty has reunited with his Babyshambles bandmates on stage for versions of ‘Albion’ and ‘Fuck Forever’ – see footage below.
The band have been largely inactive since the 2014 reformation of The Libertines, but at a Doherty solo show in Watford’s Palace Theatre on Friday night (March 21), he was joined by bassist Drew McConnell and drummer Adam Ficek for a seven-song encore.
The trio played ‘Albion’ and ‘Fuck Forever’ from their 2005 debut album ‘Down In Albion’, as well as The Libertines’ ‘What Katie Did’, ‘Time For Heroes’ and ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’. They also played Doherty’s 2009 single ‘The Last Of The English Roses’ and rounded out the set with a cover of The Stone Roses classic ‘I Wanna Be Adored’.

Doherty, McConnell and Ficek played a similar show together in Northampton last August, which was their first time playing together in a decade. Sources told NME that guitarist Mick Whitnall was at the venue before that show too, but was unable to stay for the gig.
Following the show, Ficek hinted the band could reunite properly. “4 out of 5 ain’t bad….wait for it….” he wrote.
Doherty later had his say: “It is on the cards,” he told NME. “We will get back together and get in a room with the instruments and play through the old songs, then get on stage and do it. But it’s the ‘who’ and the ‘when’ that needs to be worked out. I think we’ll just keep that one on the horizon and deal with that one next year.”
Asked if he wanted to make another Babyshambles record, he replied: “I’ve got no idea. I wrote a new song the other day that I think would really work as a ‘Shambles song. Who knows? It’s a long way off yet. It’s going to be next Autumn, so we’ll see.”
McConnell has spent the last decade playing with Liam Gallagher in his touring band. Ficek wasn’t the first drummer for Babyshambles but played on their first two albums before departing in 2008.
