FKA Twigs has told fans she is “devasted” after visa issues have forced her to cancel her remaining North American tour dates.
Late last month, FKA Twigs took to social media to inform fans that a handful of upcoming shows in the United States and Canada were being scrapped due to visa issues.
“I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform,” the singer explained. “So that means by no choice of my own I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago, and Toronto shows.”
Now, the ‘Childlike Things‘ artist has revealed that “ongoing visa issues” mean the remainder of this month’s dates, including festival sets at Coachella and Axe Ceremonia, will be cancelled.
Apologising to fans on X/Twitter, she wrote: “It pains me to say this because i am so excited to bring you a creation that i have poured my soul into and i believe is amongst my strongest work and i know this news impacts so many of you that have already made plans and spent money in order to see these shows.
im devastated to share the news that due to ongoing visa issues i am not able to see through any of my scheduled tour dates for the remainder of april across north america, including ceremonia and coachella. it pains me to say this because i am so excited to bring you a creation… pic.twitter.com/0VfhbC39Na

She went on to “promise” to reschedule all affected dates as quickly as possible, advising those with tickets to headline shows to refer to their point of purchase for details and refund information. Rounding off her post, she shared some photos of her “favourite parts of the show that we worked so hard to create.”
Having brought ‘Eusexua’ to London recently, the show scored a four-star review from NME‘s Alex Rigotti, who wrote: “Dancers hang chains connected to her dress to all four corners of the box and every spotlight is rigged onto her; Twigs has no choice but to bare her soul to the crowd.
“To end the set with a song that expresses such spiritual suffering with some of the most magnificent vocals is truly brave; every tremble and crack in her voice is deeply felt, and it’s the most connected we feel to her all night. Now that’s ‘Eusexua’.”
In a glowing five-star review of the record ‘Eusexua’, Aneesa Ahmed wrote for NME: “Twigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience. She brings her own assured sense of creativity and spirituality and combines it with her ability to materialise the intangible. As the album’s closing track says, “You’ve one life to live, do it freely”. What better note to leave it on?”
