Strange Basin #5 with the Zombie
Haim have confirmed details of their forthcoming album ‘I Quit’, and dropped a new single called ‘Down To Be Wrong’. Check it out below, alongside the album artwork.
News of the highly anticipated album first arrived last night (April 23), when the sister trio – comprising Alana, Danielle and Este Haim – took to the stage at The Bellwether for their first full gig since September 2023.
While at the show, they announced their fourth album ‘I Quit’. It will come as the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Women In Music Pt. III’ and will see them reunite with producer Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, Clairo).
Set to arrive on June 20 via Polydor, the band have already shared some new material from the tracklist, including ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ and ‘Relationships’. Now, they have dropped another single called ‘Down To Be Wrong’.
Embracing a feeling of confidence, the song comes as a powerful ode to self-preservation and prioritising yourself. “Don’t need you to understand, don’t know if you can,” says the final message, before closing with the powerful line: “Red Lights are up ahead, but I keep walking.”
Check it out below.
The band first teased the new single earlier this week, when they took to social media to write: “This is going to be a fun week. Our next single ‘Down To Be Wrong’ out Thursday”.
As well as confirming that an official music video will be coming tomorrow (April 25), Haim also shared the official cover artwork for the track, which spoofs a 2004 paparazzi photo of Jared Leto checking his phone while kissing Scarlett Johansson.
It continues the theme of their recent covers, paying homage to Nicole Kidman’s divorce-paper-signing meme and referencing an iconic Kate Moss image.
Although the single is officially available today, the trio gave it a live debut at the aforementioned Bellwether show last night, as well as another new tune titled ‘Blood On The Street’ that featured a guest appearance from Addison Rae.
The upcoming video for ‘Down To Be Wrong’ will be available from tomorrow at 4pm BST, and was directed by Bradley and Pablo (Harry Styles, Charli XCX). It is also set to feature an appearance from Percy Jackson and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower actor Logan Lerman.
While the album won’t be shared until June 20, the band have already shared some more details about the release – including that it may contain a sample of George Michael’s ‘Freedom! ’90’ – which has yet to be cleared.
The song in question, titled ‘Gone’, serves as the opener to the LP, and reportedly captures the feeling of clarity after a break-up. The album will also feature a track called ‘Take Me Back’.
Around that same time, Alana told I-D that the upcoming record was “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound”, adding that it was a “completely different experience” recording this time around.
Today, Haim have also shared the cover for the new record, which shows the three of them photographed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The collaboration with the renowned director comes following him working with Alana for the hit film Licorice Pizza, which was released in 2021 and saw the musician take on a leading role. Check it out above.

Haim also have a number of live shows planned for 2025, including slots at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto. One of their last concerts was a headline set at London’s All Points East in 2023. Visit here for tickets.
