The future of K-pop girl group SECRET NUMBER is in doubt after four members announced that they would be leaving the group.

Today (April 4), SECRET NUMBER singers Dita, Jinny and Minji announced their departure from the group and its label, Vine Entertainment, after five years as members.

In their statement, the trio alleged that their agency “decided not to maintain the contracts any further” and said they would like to inform fans that their “contract with Vine Entertainment has been officially terminated, and therefore, official activities as SECRET NUMBER have now come to an end”.

“We’ve always gave our very best, but despite numerous discussions, we ultimately came to the conclusion that under the current situation, it would be extremely difficult for us to move forward,” the trio added. calling it a “tough decision” made “after careful consideration”.

“The love and memories we’ve shared with you as SECRET NUMBER are beyond words, and it truly pains us that we couldn’t continue to meet your expectations as SECRET NUMBER until the very end,” they added.

Dita, Jinny and Minji’s announcement comes just a day after Vine Entertainment announced that member Léa would also be leaving SECRET NUMBER and the company. At the time, the label said “both group and individual activities have been delayed”, and that it would do its best to “present SECRET NUMBER in a new and refreshed way for the fans”.

Neither Vine Entertainment nor remaining members, Zuu and Soodam, have yet to clarify SECRET NUMBER’s status as a band after the trio’s announcement. Their last release as a group being August 2023’s ‘Starlight’ single album.
