Earlier this week (March 31), Cyrus shared the dramatic and ominous first taste of the “bold” record with the dramatic and ominous ‘Prelude’. She then dropped the record’s explosive title track shortly afterwards.
Now, the singer has shared the music video for ‘End Of the World’, which despite being the third preview of her upcoming album, is being billed as Miley’s “first official single” from ‘Something Beautiful’.
‘End Of The World’ is a disco-inspired track and its accompanying video harkens back to ’70s with a retro-themed video that sees the singer performing in a large room backed by a wall of lights and a drum kit.
The song’s credits, per Spotify, also includes Alvvays‘ Molly Rankin and Alec O’Hanley as co-writers and co-producers alongside Shawn Everett, Gregory Aldae Hein and more.
This isn’t the first time fans have been able to listen to ‘End Of The World’. Cyrus first debuted the track during a stripped-back performance at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California early last year. Check it out here.
The movie has been called “a one-of-a-kind pop opera from the mind of Miley Cyrus”. The official description reads: “A unique visual experience, fuelled by fantasy, including 13 original songs from the upcoming album.”
In a four-star review of ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, NME wrote: “It all adds up to an album that holds your full attention even if it isn’t Cyrus’s boldest or most visionary. ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ certainly feels like an accurate reflection of who she is as an artist – and a person – in 2023.”
