Yungblud has revealed that he was in a car accident while in Paris.
The singer – real name Dominic Harrison – shared the update during a new interview with The Daily Star, revealing that the incident took place in the French capital and sparked a bit of a turning point for him.
“I got hit by a car, which was mental. I had a bit of a trip,” he said (via Metro), adding that it made him realise that he had gotten too caught up in “a lot of bullshit” that didn’t really matter.
Explaining how the incident led to him realigning his priorities, he told the outlet that he has since worked to “re-centre” himself and be there more for the people who need him. “I’ve become a better brother, better son, better lover and better mate,” he added.
The update comes shortly after the singer made a recent comeback, dropping the surprise single ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ and showing off a new look.
Since then, he has gone on to showcase three new songs at a surprise show at Scala in London – including the comeback track, ‘Lovesick Lullaby’, ‘Zombie’.
That being said, there is still little known about his plans for an upcoming album. Although details about the name, structure and release date remain vague, the artist has been dropping multiple hints in recent months.
Last December, for instance, he told NME that it is likely going to be a double album, discussed how proud he is of the record, and got fans talking by making a return to social media. Later, he spoke to Apple Music and shared more details about how he was inspired by classic rock.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of, old-old school music, going back to people like Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt and Led Zeppelin and kind of even Elton John,” he said. “Rock is my genre. I feel like I’ve been dabbling in many different things and trying to twist rock, but I feel like at the minute it’s exciting because rock music feels spherical… it needed to sound big, it needed to sound cinematic.”
Later this summer, Harrison is set to perform at the second instalment of his own festival, Bludfest, which will also see appearances from Chase Atlantic, Denzel Curry, Blackbear and former NME Cover stars Rachel Chinouriri and Peach PRC. Visit here for tickets.
He has also been announced as the final headliner at Electric Castle 2025, joining Queens Of The Stone Age, Bicep, Justice and Justin Timberlake on the bill.
