Grinderman are set to release their entire discography on eco-friendly vinyl and CD. Find all the details below.
Formed in 2005, the side-project is made up of Bad Seeds members Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos. They released two studio albums, ‘Grinderman’ (2007) and ‘Grinderman 2’ (2010), as well as a remix collection titled ‘Grinderman 2 RMX’ (2012).
The three records will be reissued on eco-conscious black vinyl and digisleeve CD editions on July 18. Per a press release, the releases will reinstate “the band’s acclaimed catalogue for devoted fans and a new generation of listeners” – 20 years on from their formation.
Additionally, the band are set to release a range of new merchandise, including an exclusive tote bag available only with a pre-order via Cave’s official website. Check out the announcement post below, along with the full tracklists.

Grinderman, described as “the visceral and untamed side of the Bad Seeds”, haven’t performed live under the moniker since 2013. However, Cave and the Bad Seeds have performed some of the side-project’s tracks onstage in recent years.
During an interview with NME two years ago, Cave was asked whether fans could expect another album from Grinderman. “We could do a Grinderman record, because Grinderman is essentially improv,” he replied.
“It’s musically challenging and you don’t really know what you’re going to get, but I don’t think we could make a four-on-the-floor rock’n’roll record any more. I don’t think we could make an old-school Bad Seeds record anymore where it’s basically a rock band playing. I don’t see that happening.
“Not that this next [Bad Seeds] record [2024’s ‘Wild God’] is ambient – it’s not at all – but I just don’t see us going back to that basic rock’n’roll style. I just don’t know how to do it anymore.”
Then, last September, Cave’s main musical collaborator Warren Ellis told NME that he’d “never say never” regarding a Grinderman reunion. “But we better bloody get on with it,” he added. “The average age of us is about 100 now.”
Ellis continued: “Look, it constantly runs around and comes up in conversation every once in a while. There seems to be much more love for Grinderman now than when we were around!
“I wouldn’t be against it; it was so enjoyable. We’ve got to get this record out of the way, then maybe when we’re 80? Maybe we could double up with Oasis, and maybe they could support us? Maybe Oasis can support Grinderman if we reform when we’re 80!”
An official description of the new reissues reads: “Grinderman came into being in 2005 when the four teamed up with the aim to create a more raw, primal sound which would diverge from that of The Bad Seeds, and lean more into Cave’s celebrated post-punk project, The Birthday Party. After a marathon writing session, the band went into a studio to begin demoing material. The cream of the songs were then recorded with producer Nick Launay in 2006.”
In other news, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds played ‘Hollywood’ for the first time ever during a show at Cruel World 2025 in California last week. The sprawling 14-minute track closes the band’s 2019 album ‘Ghosteen’.
Cave is set to embark on a European solo summer tour next month, kicking off with three concerts in Zurich, Switzerland.
