Mel B has commented on the possibility of a 30th anniversary Spice Girls tour.

Rumours of a reunion tour have been swirling around for years, but fuel was added to the flames when the five members gave a surprise performance at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party last year in April.

Now, following previous comments that the group would  “definitely [be] doing something” for their 30th anniversary, Mel B has shared that there may be something bigger in the works.

Speaking to Extra, Scary Spice acknowledged that “it’s the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’ song next year,” adding: “We’ve got a year to work on them. Let’s put it that way.”

When asked about the possibility of a full reunion tour, she replied: “Your guess is as good as mine right now. I’m always game. Always.”

If a reunion tour was to happen, it would mark the Spice Girls’ first tour together since their successful 2019 tour.

Previously, Mel B hinted that the Spice Girls might return to perform in the Legends’ slot at Glastonbury in 2023. However, Mel C shut the rumours down, saying it didn’t work logistically for the group.

In recent months, however, more individual members have fuelled new hopes that the group may join forces once again. Recently, Geri Halliwell-Horner (aka Ginger Spice) opened up about the possibility of a comeback in a Sunday Times interview, saying that “there will be something”.

“My hope is we come back together as a collective,” she told the outlet. “It’s more respectful to come as one.”

“We love each other. I love them, I care about them, we want the best for each other,” she continued. “We shared something so monumental. We’ve always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful.”

Emma Bunton further heightened hopes when she shared a Christmas-inspired version of Spice Girls’ ‘2 Become 1’ last December. Mel C has also spoken about her wish for a Spice Girls reunion recently, saying that she felt that “it’s time” for a comeback.

In other news, Geri Halliwell-Horner has updated the Spice Girls’ “girl power” slogan to be more gender inclusive.
