‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ trailer gives first look at Bruce Springsteen biopic

The first trailer for Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere has been released, giving fans a first look at star Jeremy Allen White as the legendary musician.

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, chronicles the New Jersey legend’s journey to recording his sixth album, ‘Nebraska’, in 1982. On the edge of becoming a worldwide phenomenon, the film will show the artist at a much more vulnerable moment in his life. Succession star Jeremy Strong plays Jon Landau, Springsteen’s manager and record producer; while Adolescence actor Stephen Graham portrays his father, Douglas Springsteen.

The film is scheduled for release on October 24, and you can watch the first trailer below.

The Boss has given his approval for the film, visiting the cast during filming and giving enthusiastic praise for those involved. Speaking to Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, he discussed how the project came about. “They pitched the idea, and I said, ‘It sounds like fun,’” Springsteen he recalled. “It’s an interesting concept, because it’s only a couple of years out of my life”.

He continued: “It’s ’81, ’82, and centred around the creation of that particular record while I was simultaneously recording ‘Born in the USA’ and also going through some personal difficulties that I’ve been living with my whole life. But it’s fantastic”.

The feeling was mutual for the cast, with Strong describing it as “one of the greatest working experiences I’ve ever had”. Graham also spoke positively about the project, revealing he was left in tears after receiving praise from Bruce Springsteen, describing his messages as: “The most gorgeous texts I’ve ever had in my life”.

While this is the first time the public will see footage from the film, a specially cut trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere was presented at CinemaCon in April, which featured White singing the Springsteen classic ‘Born To Run’.
