Amyl & The Sniffers have dominated the 2025 ARIA Awards, and quipped that the trophies mean that they “probably won’t have to work at IGA ever again”. Check out the full list of winners on the night below.
This year’s instalment of the Australian awards ceremony was held at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, and saw the punk band go home as the biggest winners of the night for their latest album ‘Cartoon Darkness’.
At the awards, they won in categories including Album Of The Year, Best Rock Album, Best Group and Best Cover Art.
“I know you just like it because I was flashing my titties!” frontwoman Amy Taylor quipped while on stage, announced as the winner for the latter. She went on to get more laughs throughout the night as she took to the stage to accept trophies in other categories.
“We’re really not that good at speeches,” Taylor added, before going to shout “Fuck the world!”. She also joked that winning Album Of The Year made her feel like “the new Prime Minister of Australia”.
“I’d like to say: all immigrants welcome. I’d like to say: land back, the dole’s going up, and every pub gets a million dollars,” she added, before saying that the response to ‘Cartoon Darkness’ had undoubtedly changed the lives of her and her bandmates. “Probably won’t have to work at IGA ever again,” she said, referring to the Australian supermarket chain.
The band have taken home awards at the ARIAs before – including a Best Group win in 2022, and wins for Best Rock Album for their 2022 album ‘Comfort To Me’ and 2019 self-titled debut.
Behind Amyl & The Sniffers with the most wins on the night was Ninajirachi, who had eight nominations and won in the Best Solo Artist, Breakthrough Artist and Best Independent Release categories. Fellow dance artist Dom Dolla was named as the recipient of the 2025 Inaugural Global Impact Award, and also won Best Dance/Electronic Release for the song ‘Dreamin’’.
Tame Impala (aka Kevin Parker) won Best Engineered Release and Best Produced Release, taking his total number of ARIA wins up to 15. Other winners included The Teskey Brothers, The Kid Laroi, Kasey Chambers and Troye Sivan.

Amyl & The Sniffers’ appearance at the Sydney ceremony comes just days after the band picked up bar tabs of $35,000 for fans in Melbourne, after their free show was cancelled at the last minute.
In 2026, the band will join Deftones at All Points East presents Outbreak Fest and appear with The Cure on the bill for Øya Festival.
Last year, Amyl & The Sniffers spoke to NME about their growing fanbase and how they found the inspiration for ‘Cartoon Darkness’.
“We’ve evolved in so many different ways,” said drummer Bryce Wilson. “Further than pub rock or punk rock kinda thing. Not better or worse or anything, just different branches of a tree.”
Speaking about how their latest album saw them tackle wider societal issues, including prejudice and sexism, Taylor added: “I was intimidated by politics. I didn’t grow up around it that much. I finished high school, but barely. It’s really easy to feel kind of ashamed of yourself for not being sure how to get your foot in it, or to get the confidence to speak out about stuff.
“I don’t just wanna be singing about crap. The world’s filled with junk – layers and layers and layers of junk. Pointless crap. I don’t wanna be contributing to that.”
