In Waves‘, Jamie xx’s first solo full-length since 2015’s ‘In Colour’, was released on September 20. Last week, he celebrated its release with two huge homecoming shows at London’s Alexandra Palace on September 25 and 26, and earlier in the summer he announced a string of club residencies in New York and Los Angeles set to commence next year.

Now, the DJ, producer and member of The xx has shared he’ll be embarking on a colossal world tour that’s set to run from October 2024 all the way to March 2025.

“Last week the In Waves Tour started in London and I’m about to take it on the road, all around the world,” Jamie said in a press release. “This is gunna be funnn!”

He’ll kick off the run of shows with a previously announced set in Mexico City on October 2, before heading to Arizona, Miami, Buenos Aires, Santiago and São Paulo. Then, in November he’ll play in Taipei, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Tokyo, before heading to Australia in December to play shows in Melbourne, Sydney and more.

After that, he’ll return to North America for shows in New York, Chicago, Vancouver and Los Angeles in January 2025, before a European leg in March that will make stops in Copenhagen, Prague and Milan. Finally, he’ll wrap things up in Paris on March 21.

NME gave ‘In Waves’ a four-star review, calling the album: “an even more melancholic record than its predecessor – and a less immediately exciting one, too. But it’s arguably a more complex beast, born of a complex era yet authored by a musician with one eye on the simple, timeless pleasures of the club. With ‘In Waves’, almost a decade on from the triumph of ‘In Colour’, Jamie xx remains in bloom.”
