Playboi Carti brought out The Weeknd during his set last night (Sunday November 17) at Camp Flog Gnaw.

Carti closed out the festival with a set that was just over 30 minutes long. He mostly performed his recent releases such as ‘Backr00ms’, ‘2024’ and ‘EvilJordan’ – which are all unofficial singles expected to appear on his highly-awaited third studio album ‘I AM MUSIC’ – along with his verses on ‘Type Shit’ from Future and Metro Boomin’s debut joint album ‘We Don’t Trust You’ and the ethereal ‘Earfquake’ from Tyler, the Creator’s ‘IGOR’.

The last song from the Atlanta native was his latest single with The Weeknd, ‘Timeless’. At first, Carti rapped his lyrics alone on stage until the Canadian pop star nonchalantly walked out and joined him in an all-black ensemble to sing his parts.

This un-billed performance comes two months after the duo live debuted ‘Timeless’ at The Weeknd’s one-off livestream event in São Paulo, Brazil to showcase his new era. They also performed a cover of Carti and Travis Scott’s Top Five Billboard hit, ‘FE!N’.

‘Timeless’ – which is produced by Pharrell – is Carti and The Weeknd’s second collaboration. Their first was when they teamed up with Madonna for this year’s disco-pop track ‘Popular’ from the soundtrack for The Weeknd’s ill-fated directorial debut, The Idol TV series.

Camp Flog Gnaw – the two-day event founded by homegrown rap juggernaut Tyler, the Creator – celebrated its 10th anniversary at the iconic Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Erykah Badu, Doechii, The Alchemist, Action Bronson, Kenny Mason, Sexyy Red, André 3000, Kaytranada and more were all on this year’s line-up.

R&B superstar SZA even joined Doechii on stage during her set to perform their 2020 collaboration, ‘Persuasive (remix)’.
