Elsewhere in the press release, it was revealed that 2025 will also include a “look back at Springsteen’s storied recording career, featuring never-before-heard material.” However, the release did not share what era the songs are from or the formats in which they will be released.
Back in 1998, Springsteen released ‘Tracks’, a four-disc box set that featured 66 songs with the majority being never-before-released tracks as well as b-sides, demons and alternate versions of his previously released songs.
Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Springsteen’s seminal album ‘Born To Run’. The icon’s third album helped push him into rock stardom with the likes of songs such as ‘Thunder Road’, ‘Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out’, ‘Backstreets’ and ‘Jungleland’. It also marks the 45th anniversary of his 1980 double LP ‘The River’, the 30th anniversary of his Grammy-award-winning LP ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ and the 20th anniversary of his 2005 LP ‘Devils & Dust’.
The release also shared that The Boss will continue his involvement with his upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere which sees Jeremy Allen White play ‘80s-era Springsteen, with the film chronicling the recording of his 1982 album ‘Nebraska’. The biopic is being produced by Disney’s 20th Century Studios, and the shoot is happening mostly on location in Springsteen’s native New Jersey and New York.
Early last month, the ‘Born In The U.S.A’ singer was spotted visiting White while on set of the biopic while shooting a scene in a car dealership in Bayonne, New Jersey.
In other news, Springsteen’s 2024 tour with The E Street Band was one of the Top 10 highest-grossing music world tours, bringing in a whopping $251.3m in revenue.
The musician also recently rejected reports from earlier this year that claimed he is now a billionaire and said “I wish I was”.
