Chappell Roan has said her idea of a really great night in is playing Fortnite after eating an edible.

The pop megastar spent the majority of 2024 on the road following the release of debut album ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’ and viral smash ‘Good Luck, Babe!’.

However in a new interview, she’s revealed her idea of a good night in. Speaking to the BBC after being crowned the Sound Of 2025, Roan said: “If I want to have a really good night, I’ll just eat an edible and play video games. If I’m trying to have fun out, I’ll take shrooms.”

She then said her video game of choice was Fortnite but isn’t a fan of the new first-person mode. “But I wouldn’t get to see my Ariana Grande character. No, no. I paid for that skin.”

“It depends how seriously you take the gun fights,” asked the BBC. “I play on Nintendo Switch, so that’s how serious I take it,” replied Roan.

Last year, Chappell Roan shouted out a fan who was taking pictures during her gig using a handheld console. “Bitch is that a DS? You keep taking photos on your DS, you keep doing it.” Fortnite also added an emote inspired by Roan’s viral ‘Hot To Go’ dance in December.

Elsewhere during her interview with the BBC, Chappell Roan said she chose not to extend her 2024 tour to protect her physical and mental health after taking the advice of her late grandfather. “There’s something he said that I think about in every move I make with my career. There are always options. So when someone says, ‘Do this concert because you’ll never get offered that much money ever again’, it’s like, who cares?”

“If I don’t feel like doing this right now, there are always options. There is not a scarcity of opportunity. I think about that all the time,” she added.

Later this year, Chappell Roan will headline Reading & Leeds Festival alongside Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon and Hozier.
