Bloc Party have confirmed a host of support acts for their ‘On The Beach’ show in Brighton this summer. Check out the full line-up below.
The London band announced last October that they’d be performing their 2005 debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ in full at the event to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Kele Okereke and co. will also treat fans to a selection of their “greatest hits”.
Now, the group have added six special guests to the bill – led by Everything Everything, English Teacher and Mystery Jets.
These will be joined on the day by Liz Lawrence, Feet and Martial Arts further down on the line-up. You can find any remaining tickets here.
“This summer, we’re stacking the bills with great bands – here’s the Brighton line-up, see you this summer,” Bloc Party wrote alongside an updated gig poster on social media. See the post here:
Additionally, Bloc Party are scheduled to perform ‘Silent Alarm’ in its entirety when they headline Live At Leeds: In The Park in May. They’ll deliver the same special set at concerts in Manchester and Bristol too. In August, the band will make appearances at Reading & Leeds 2025 and Victorious Festival following a slot at Mad Cool in July.
Bloc Party took ‘Silent Alarm’ to the stage at a huge show in London’s Crystal Palace Park last July. It marked their biggest headline performance to date, with support coming from the likes of Friendly Fires and The Hives.
When announcing the celebratory gig, frontman Okereke explained: “We’ve been having so much fun playing shows over the past year, so it makes sense to do something special for old and new fans, celebrating 20 years of Bloc Party.
“We heard from a lot of people that they couldn’t get tickets for the [2018/2019] ‘Silent Alarm’ gigs, so a one-off summer party playing that and the bangers feels like the right thing to do.”
Produced by Paul Epworth, the critically acclaimed ‘Silent Alarm’ earned a Mercury Prize nomination and was named NME’s album of the year in 2005.
Speaking to NME in 2023, Okereke explained: “I’m completely thankful that [‘Silent Alarm’] connected with people; but it’s at that point when I hear any record that we’ve made, I hear the things I’d do differently if I had the opportunity to do it again.”
Bloc Party released their sixth and most recent full-length effort, ‘Alpha Games’, in 2022.
Meanwhile, Okereke recently teased a new Bloc Party album that is “very personal and confessional” and “about the study of a fleeting relationship from start to finish”.
