DMA’s guitarist Johnny Took and his brother, PLANET singer, Matthew Took have officially launched their side project BIIG Time with the new single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’, news of a debut album ‘200K’ and a 2025 UK tour.
BIIG Time released their first single ‘It’s You’ back in 2020 but have been radio silent until now. Their debut album ‘200K’ is due on May 2, and you can pre-order it here.
To launch the news, the band have shared the album’s high octane, shoegazey lead single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’, alongside a music video featuring home video footage of the brothers’ childhoods in Sydney, allowing fans to see a “life-long friendship that shines through their songs and harmonies,” per a press release.
“‘Bigger Than Nothing’ is our first release since our first and only single ‘It’s You’ back in 2020! It’s quintessential BIIG TIME,” says the band. “Harmonies the whole way through and distorted guitars. Lyrically it’s full of tongue in cheek self-deprecation and floating in and out of the feeling of not being good enough for people and situations around you.
“It’s the first single from the album, which is a collection of gems that we have written over the years. We couldn’t be prouder to share this first taste.”

The brothers have also unveiled plans for a UK tour, set to kick off in Leeds on May 14. From there, they’ll head to Birmingham, Keele, Bristol, Glasgow, London and more, before wrapping things up with a show at Manchester’s Gorilla on May 24.
Tickets go on sale next Friday (April 4) and will be available here. Check out a full list of dates and venues below.

DMA’s last album ‘How Many Dreams?’ arrived in 2023.
Their fourth full-length album, the LP followed on from 2020’s ‘The Glow’, and saw the members find a balance between electronic dance elements, alongside guitar rock and punk. It also received a three-star review from NME, with Thomas Smith writing: “If there ever was a moment for DMA’s to really commit to a sound, and to do so fearlessly, it would be on album four – frustratingly, it feels like they’ve held back at points.”
“This isn’t entirely a wasted opportunity, though. ‘How Many Dreams?’ is ambitious and catchy enough to satiate old fans and realign the narrative for those who may have written DMA’s off,” It continued. “But it’s hard to not leave feeling that this was their moment, and they’ve only grabbed it with one hand.”
The post DMA’s side project BIIG Time launch with huge single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’ and announce debut album ‘200K’ with 2025 UK tour appeared first on NME.
