MAMAMOO’s Solar drops music video for new single ‘Want’

MAMAMOO singer Solar has released the music video for her new single, ‘Want’.

MAMAMOO’s Solar released both the song and its visual on April 2 via RBW Entertainment. It marked the K-pop idol’s second solo single album and her first release of 2025.

In a press statement, RBW Entertainment described the new track as one about the “courage and excitement of being with someone you like before making your relationship official in time for spring, the season of new beginnings”.

In the music video, Solar walks up to a boutique hotel by the street, before plucking a lit sign reading “WANT” off the hotel’s front and using it as a hair clip. She begins to perform the song within the hotel, fitted with retro furnishing.

“Run at my pace, take a step / Even if it’s clumsy, I’m not afraid / You know I want it, I know you want it, baby / Follow my lead without hesitation / Lock eyes and take it step by step,” she sings in the pre-chorus.

‘Want’ notably marks Solar’s first music release since her third mini-album ‘Colours’, which came out in April 2024. She made her solo debut in 2022 with the ‘容 : FACE’, which was led by the single ‘Honey’.

In a glowing four-star review of the mini-album, NME’s Rhian Daly described ‘容 : FACE’ as a “record of balmy bops”. She added that the release “balances surprises and sultriness over five tracks that leave you wanting more”.
