(G)I-DLE are set to return with new music sometime next month, their label CUBE Entertainment has confirmed.

On April 9, CUBE Entertainment confirmed reports that girl group (G)I-DLE would be releasing new music in May, per Ilgan Sports. Although the K-pop agency declined to provide any additional details, its set to be the quintet first release together in almost a year.

Notably, the upcoming (G)I-DLE release will be their first since all five members renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment late last year. The band themselves were the first to announce the news during their acceptance speech at the 2024 MMAs, upon receiving Record of the Year.

At the time, Soyeon told fans in the same announcement that “the five of us will be together from now on, next year, the year after, and really forever”. She also added: “We will give back with good music next year, as well.”

Their last release with July 2024’s ‘I Sway’, their seventh mini-album. The record featured lead single ‘Klaxon’. ‘I Sway’ was also the follow-up to their January full-length record ‘[2]’, the album that won them the Record of the Year Grand Prize at the 2024 MMAs.

In the time since their last release music together, Thai member Minnie made her solo debut earlier this year with the mini-album ‘Her’. Minnie enlisted bandmate Yuqi for B-side song ‘Drive U Crazy’, while NCT’s Ten lent his vocals to ‘Obsession’.

Meanwhile, Chinese bandmate Yuqi also dropped a digital single titled ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ last month.
