Addison Rae announced her album release date on her underwear during Arca‘s Coachella set.

She joined Venezuelan producer (aka Alejandra Ghersi) at the Californian festival’s Gobi tent for ‘Arcamarine / Aquamarine’, her 2024 track that Arca remixed.

As they rounded off their performance, she turned around to reveal the words “June 6th” written on her underwear, presumably the release date of her debut album.

Fans had anticipated her making an appearance at Coachella, with many assuming she’d join Charli XCX, who teamed up with her and A.G. Cook for the remix of ‘Von Dutch’ last year, with Rae appearing at shows in Los Angeles and New York to perform the track with Charli.

In the end, the ‘Brat’ singer was joined by Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish and Lorde, who came out to perform their ‘Girl, so confusing’ remix, with Charli seemingly passing the torch and heralding “Lorde summer 2025”.

Rae’s pivot from TikTok creator to pop star has seen her steadily release music since 2021, starting with ‘Obsessed‘. Her debut EP, ‘AR’ followed in 2023, but her breakthrough came after the Charli collab, which was followed by the Billboard charting ‘Diet Pepsi’.

In our round-up of the 50 best songs of 2024, the track came in at Number 44. “Addison Rae’s ascent from TikTok choreographer to burgeoning pop icon may have seemed unlikely three years ago, but for those attuned to early leaks of ‘2 Die 4’ it seemed written in the stars,” NME wrote.

“So, when ‘Diet Pepsi’ arrived, rich in dreamy harmonies and transcendent musings on young love, it seemed those celestial forces had at last aligned.”
