Doja Cat teases next album, shares snippet of ’80s-influenced new song ‘Jealous Type’

Doja Cat has given fans another tease of her new album in the form of a 30 second clip of new song ‘Jealous Type’.

The snippet was shared during an Instagram Live stream by the artist over the weekend, while she has also tweeted out a list of 16 song titles that make up a possible tracklist for her next LP.

The 30-second teaser of ‘Jealous Type’ reveals a pulsing, shimmery pop track that boasts ‘80s-indebted production, while Doja sings: “Boy, let me know if this is careless / I could be torn between two roads that I just can’t decide / Which one is leading me to hell or paradise? / Baby, I can’t hurt you, sure / But I’m the jealous type.”

Doja confirmed the lyrics herself in a post on X on Sunday (April 13) – check out the clip of ‘Jealous Type’ in the post below.

Also on Sunday, Doja posted a list of 16 song titles, including ‘Kink’, ‘Lipstain’, ‘Gorgeous’ and ‘Couples Therapy’. See the full list below.

“Don’t ask me where crack is rn,” she wrote alongside the post. This is in reference to a similar post she made in November of 13 song titles that did include ‘Crack’. Nothing has been officially confirmed about the status of the album, nor its contents.

She did, however, release a collaborative track with Jack Harlow titled ‘Just Us’ last month, which was accompanied by a star-studded video featuring the likes of Matt Damon, John Mayer, PinkPantheress and Succession actor Nicholas Braun.

Doja’s last album, ‘Scarlet’, was released in 2023 and it scored a three-star review from NME: “It all adds up to an overlong, slightly repetitive but ultimately compelling album of two halves… Still, by this stage, there’s no doubt that Doja has made her point – that she doesn’t owe us anything but to be herself.”

She also gave a performance at the Oscars in March, singing ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ as part of a James Bond medley. She later admitted to having felt nervous ahead of it and conceded that she “hit some flats”.
