EXO’s Baekhyun announces new mini-album, ‘Essence of Reverie’

EXO singer Baekhyun has announced his new mini-album, titled ‘Essence of Reverie’.

On April 25, EXO’s Baekhyun took to social media to announce his new project, called ‘Essence of Reverie’, and also released a teaser clip for the mini-album. The EP will be released on May 19 at 6pm KST. Further details about the album are expected in the coming weeks.

Baekhyun’s last mini-album was the 2024 project ‘Hello, World’, which was led by title track ‘Pineapple Slice’. The EP was notably his first since he established his own label, INB100. Earlier this year, he also collaborated with American singer UMI on the song ‘Do What You Do’.

‘Hello, World’ received a glowing four-star review from NME‘s Tanu I. Raj, who called it “the sound of Baekhyun unfettered”. They added: “The melting pot of vibes, arrangements and generous layerings provide a buoyancy characteristic of the singer, while still rooted in the sound he’s come to be known for.”

‘Pineapple Slice’ was later named by NME as one of the best K-pop songs released in 2024. with Tássia Assis saying that the song “is pure dazzling pop with a swirl of smooth R&B – a Michelin-worthy creation that only he could embody so fluently. Currently in his post-military duty, new-CEO glow, the EXO singer reminds us why he’s still on top of the game.”
