Paramore‘s Hayley Williams has received a National Dance Institute Honour and teased a collaboration with Moses Sumney.
The singer was the recipient of the award at the National Dance Institute’s annual gala, held Monday night (April 28) in New York. During her acceptance speech, Williams revealed that her mother worked at the Institute, adding that NDI giving children access to dance lessons was “life-saving stuff”.
“Equitable access to dance (and really any art form) should be every kid’s birthright,” Williams continued in an Instagram post. “So much love to the National Dance Institute for granting that access to so many. And for honouring me— the least graceful dancer of all.”
Williams was also revealed to have a duet with indie artist Moses Sumney dropping very soon. The two went viral last week for crip-walking to a ‘Misery Business’ remix, and yesterday (April 30), Sumney unveiled a snippet of his upcoming song with Williams.
Titled ‘I Like It I Like It’, the track will drop May 8 – take a listen below.

We last spoke to Williams when Paramore released their last album ‘This Is Why‘ in 2023. Asked for her thoughts on where the emo rock scene should go next, Williams told us: “Oh, my God. I hope no young female experiences the shit that I experienced.
“When we were teenagers, the way forward was to be tough all the time. Our entire scene was contributing to shitty treatment of women and anything that wasn’t masculine. We were out on Warped Tour, this little Fueled by Ramen band acting like a hardcore band on stage. It was like if I didn’t spit further, I felt like someone was going to throw me out.”
When ‘This Is Why’ dropped, we gave it a glowing five-star review, writing: “Paramore are reaching to where, finally, their music has wanted to get to for the best part of the past decade. Rather than try to top their peerless anthems, the band have instead uncovered a new warmth on ‘This Is Why’, and the effect is triumphant indeed.”
In other news, Turnstile have shared two new songs featuring Devonté Hynes and Paramore’s Hayley Williams.
