Grace Jones has joined the already stacked line-up for the 2025 edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival.
The Jamaican disco and new wave legend will be heading to the scenic shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland for the 59th instalment of the festival, which is being held from July 4 to 19. She replaces French rapper Laylow on the bill. Visit here to buy tickets.
The first wave of artists were announced for the festival in April, with big hitters such as Neil Young, Pulp, Sam Fender and RAYE among those on the line-up. Diana Ross, Jamie xx, Brandi Carlile, J Balvin, Ezra Collective, FKA Twigs, Alanis Morissette, Noah Kahan, Beth Gibbons and Benson Boone are also performing.
The opening night of the festival will also serve as a celebration of the late Quincy Jones and his enduring legacy. It will include a unique concert led by Chaka Khan and feature special guests who worked alongside the iconic producer.
Other names on the bill include Bloc Party, Royel Otis, James Blake, Seu Jorge, London Grammar, JADE, Jorja Smith, Lionel Richie, Shaboozey, Finneas, The Black Keys, Nubya Garcia, Sigrid and Santana.

Last summer, the 2024 edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival was given a glowing five-star review from NME, with Andrew Trendell describing it as proving why the festival has “attracted the biggest names in rock, pop, and jazz since 1968”.
“Tears were shed, magic was made, and that’s why we’re here. That’s why we headed out to Montreux and will definitely return – come with us,” it read.
That instalment included sets from Kraftwerk, The National, The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice Cooper, PJ Harvey, Justice, Jessie Ware, Massive Attack, Air, Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Janelle Monáe, Michael Kiwanuka, Duran Duran, Paolo Nutini, Soft Cell and more.
Grace Jones, meanwhile, recently featured on King Charles III’s personally curated playlist of favourite songs, with her version of the classic French standard ‘La Vie En Rose’.
She has not released a new album since 2008’s ‘Hurricane’, but she did feature on Beyoncé’s ‘Move’ from the 2022 album ‘Renaissance’ and Janelle Monáe’s ‘Ooh La La’ from ‘The Age Of Pleasure’ in 2023.
