A British peer has seemingly accidentally revealed that Oasis will play Knebworth next summer, before backtracking on the claims.
The peer, Lady Taylor of Stevenage, stood up in the House of Lords’ upper house yesterday (October 22) and claimed that Oasis were playing five, back-to-back anniversary gigs at Knebworth House next year.
In 2026, it will be 30 years since Oasis first played their legendary Knebworth gigs in Hertfordshire which sold out in under 24 hours.
Lady Taylor spoke to the House of Lords, claiming: “Next July, I have the benefit of five days of Oasis concerts in the fantastic venue of Knebworth House, which is just about a mile from my house,” (via The Guardian).
She added: “I can hear and enjoy [the gigs] from my house, and they represent the important cultural role of music venues and…make an enormous contribution to our economy.” You can read the full transcript of her address here.
The Guardian later reached out to Lady Taylor, who then seemingly backtracked on the claim. She told the outlet: “I was speaking hypothetically following speculation that they would play Knebworth again as they did in August 1996. I understand the band have not confirmed this.”
NME has reached out to representatives of Oasis for comment.

Rumours have been rife that Oasis will announce more dates for 2026 for some time. Liam recently teased more to come at their final Wembley show, with him announcing: “‘Champagne Supernova’, see you next year.” He then playfully slapped himself on the wrists to scold himself for letting it slip.
It’s been a long and emotional journey for the band, with Liam and Noel Gallagher first stepping on stage together for the first time in 16 years in Cardiff back in July – introducing a polished and hit-heavy set to an audience of all ages and backgrounds, as new generations welcomed Oasis back.
The gig was met with universal acclaim – with NME hailing it as “all you ever would have wanted from Oasis in 2025” – before the band seemed to really warm up and grow more comfortable with one another by the time they reached their boisterous homecoming shows in Manchester and first run of Wembley gigs. The band are currently on the Asia leg of their mighty Oasis Live ‘25 comeback tour, where they played Goyang Stadium in South Korea on Tuesday (October 21).
Last year, the band shot down reports that they were planning to headline Knebworth in 2026, and dashed hopes for a new Oasis album after Liam initially told fans that a new LP from the group was “already finished”, before raising hopes again when he claimed that he was “blown away” by the new material written by Noel.
However, he then went back on this and posted an update on X saying that there was “no Oasis album in the making” and his prior comments were merely something he did for “a laugh”.
Meanwhile, Oasis’ 30th anniversary reissue of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ arrived earlier this month (October 3), and the band also announced 25th anniversary editions of their classic Wembley live album ‘Familiar To Millions‘ that will arrive in November.
