Green Day’s Mike Dirnt has teamed up with Epiphone to launch a signature Grabber G-3 range of bass guitars.
The model is a revival of the American instrument brand’s Graber G-3 and it pays tribute to the career of Dirnt and Green Day, with it having been fundamental to the sound of their breakthrough records, including 1994’s ‘Dookie’.
Dirnt continued to perform with the model throughout the band’s recent ‘Saviors World Tour‘, and now it is being made available in a Silverburst finish and a Natural finish, with fans able to purchase theirs via the Epiphone online store here, as well as Gibson Garage locations in Nashville and London.
A press release states: “Known for his punchy bass lines, dynamic vocals, and electrifying stage presence, Dirnt has been a driving force behind one of music’s most influential and long-running bands. The new Grabber G-3 reflects his legacy with a design that blends classic construction and modern performance features.”

In other news, Green Day recently celebrated two years of the ‘Saviors’ era by releasing a video for ‘Suzie Chapstick’. NME awarded the 2024 album four stars, noting: “There’s some serendipity in the band hitting the road to celebrate 30 years of ‘Dookie’ and 20 years of ‘American Idiot’ later this summer. Not only does ‘Saviors’ spiritually bridge the gap between the two, but it uses the palette of the best of the band to tell us something else.”
Elsewhere, the band shared the trailer for their new road trip comedy film New Years Rev in September. It sees a band named the Analog Dogs, played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust, set out to drive from Kansas to California to meet their heroes.
Inspired by their early touring days, the film follows three friends who embark on a road trip in the mistaken belief that they have secured a Green Day support slot at a New Year’s Eve show. It received its world premiere in Toronto on September 12.
