The 10 date run of shows comes ahead of the US presidential election on November 5. The tour shares the same name as Wonder’s most recent single ‘Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart’ which marked his first new song in four years.

The track finds Wonder reflecting on a nation torn apart by strife, miscommunication and sorrow as he sings: “Children marching on the boulevard / Tears are streaming down their face / The tension in the air is so bizarre / Love is gone without a trace.”

It marks his first solo release since 2020, when he brought out ‘Can’t Put It In The Hands Of Fate’ and ‘Where Is Our Love Song’ to christen the launch of his own record label, So What’s The Fuss Music.

Last year, he featured on The Rolling Stones’ ‘Sweet Sounds Of Heaven‘ alongside Lady Gaga. More recently, he played harmonica on Beyoncé‘s ‘Jolene’ cover.

In other news, Wonder recently joined John Legend and Sheila E to perform at Democratic National Convention (DNC) last month,

Showing his support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, he told the crowd in a speech before performing his song, ‘Higher Ground’: “We must keep on keeping on until we are truly a united people of these United States and then we will reach a higher ground.”
