Lil Reese has been arrested over the weekend in Houston after a warrant was issued for the alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend.

According to TMZ, the rapper – real name Tavares Taylor – was reportedly arrested on Sunday (September 29) after a warrant was issued for him over two weeks ago for allegedly punching and choking his ex-girlfriend two weeks ago at a club called The Pink House in Houston. Taylor was booked yesterday (September 30) on aggravated assault of a family or household member and has been denied bond.

As reported by TMZ on Tuesday (September 17), documents from the Houston Police Department claimed that Taylor had gotten physical with his former partner after she rejected his advances at the club. The woman claimed the drill rapper punched her in the right cheek and applied pressure to her neck with both of his arms. She told authorities that his actions left her “gasping for air” and “fearful for her life”.

Her friend who allegedly witnessed the incident called for security to get involved. After allegedly discovering scratches and redness on her throat, police issued a warrant for Taylor’s arrest.

Taylor was found at The Address nightclub in Houston on Sunday (September 29) and was taken in by authorities. The rapper has denied all allegations made against him, with his attorney Carl Moore sharing a statement to TMZ that read: “Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations. We look forward to his day in court.”

Elsewhere, the rapper recently teamed up with Shoebox Baby for a collab track titled ‘Dayvon Bennett’. Taylor’s last EP released was 2023’s ‘Ask About Me’.

Back in 2021, Taylor was hospitalised after he and two other men were shot at a Chicago parking garage. In 2019, the rapper was critically wounded after being shot in the neck when his vehicle stopped at an intersection in the County Club Hills, Illinois.
