Billy Idol has announced a brand new North American tour for this year with Joan Jett – check out the full list of tour dates below.
Yesterday (January 21), Billy Idol took to social media to announce the tour, which is being dubbed It’s A Nice Day To… Tour Again!. It will take place in two portions – the first in Spring and the second in the Summer.
So far, Idol has announced 30 shows, all of which will include Joan Jett and her band The Blackhearts. The first run of shows will run between April 30 and May 23, while the second leg of the tour runs between August 16 and September 25.
To announced the tour, Idol filmed a skit featuring comedian Matt Rife. While ordering a drink at a coffeeshop, Idol is served by Rife, who portrays a barista. Rife suggests “it’s a nice day for a white mocha”, which prompts Billy Idol to consider hitting the road again.
Over the course of the next few days, Idol hears Rife’s voice everywhere and eventually speaks to his therapist, portrayed by Joan Jett. When he asks her for advice, Joan tells him “it’s a nice day to tour again”.
Artist pre-sales for the tour go live today (January 22) at 9am local time, while local pre-sales go live at the same time on January 23. Public sales will go live at 9am local time on January 24 – you can get your tickets via Ticketmaster.
Per Rolling Stone, USD$5 from every ticket for the tour’s final date at the KIA Forum in California will be donated towards relief efforts for the Los Angeles wildfires.
