The BRIT Awards has announced the winner of this year’s Producer Of The Year prize.
The 2025 ceremony is due to take place at The O2 in London this Saturday (March 1), with Jack Whitehall returning as host. It’ll be broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX.
Ahead of the event, it’s been revealed that Charli XCX‘s longtime collaborator A. G. Cook is this year’s Producer Of The Year. Cook – full name Alexander Guy Cook – worked on Charli’s huge 2024 album ‘Brat’, which is up for Album Of The Year at the BRITs ’25.
Cook has previously earned numerous Grammy nominations for his work with Charli and Beyoncé. His production credits also include Caroline Polachek, Troye Sivan, Christine & The Queens, Oklou and the late SOPHIE.
His critically acclaimed third solo album, ‘Britpop’, was released last year – and earned a glowing five-star review from NME. In 2013, Cook founded the influential London-based label PC Music.
Speaking about receiving this year’s Producer Of The Year award, Cook explained: “As someone who’s always felt like a bit of an outsider, I’m very flattered to be recognised by The BRITs.
“From the early PC Music days to the Charli mixtapes and beyond, I’ve been lucky to work on so much music that I truly believe in.”

He added: “In particular, I’d like to dedicate this moment to SOPHIE, whose vision and artistry is still a driving force for producers everywhere.”
Damian Christian, Managing Director and President of Promotions at Atlantic Records (part of Warner Music UK) and Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025, commented: “What a year A. G. Cook has had – from his expansive solo record ‘Britpop’ to the world-beating ‘Brat’, he has pushed the boundaries and delivered incredible music.
“He is a true creative and has worked with the world’s biggest artists – always getting the best out of them and helping them evolve their sound. Congratulations to A. G. on being crowned the 2025 Producer Of The Year.”
The winner of the award is decided annually by a select panel of expert judges. Previous recipients include Chase & Status, David Guetta, Fred Again.. and Calvin Harris.
Earlier this month, Charli XCX’s ‘Brat’ won the Grammys for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album and Best Recording Package. It was also in the running for Album Of The Year, but lost out to Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’.
Meanwhile, Sam Fender and Lola Young have been announced as the final live performers for this weekend’s BRITs.
They’ll join the previously confirmed Sabrina Carpenter on the bill, alongside JADE, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, The Last Dinner Party and Myles Smith – the latter of whom won this year’s Rising Star award.

In other news, BRITs Week 2025 is currently underway. The run of intimate live shows includes dates from Kasabian, James Bay, Soft Play and more.
