Fans are responding following Liam Gallagher jokingly teasing the length of the upcoming Oasis reunion shows.

Since the tour was announced at the end of the summer, fans across the world have been eager to nab tickets to the upcoming Oasis comeback shows, and the intense scramble for tickets has even led to discussion around pricing going to the UK parliament.

Now, with the first leg of the tour set to kick off across the UK and Ireland later this summer, fans have begun debating how long each set will last for. With a new update on social media, the frontman has gotten involved in the discussion, and posted an update jokingly providing an exact plan.

On X/Twitter, a fan got in touch with Gallagher to write: “Liam some people believe Oasis gigs will last only one hour, tell em you were joking”. In response, the singer dropped the simple response: “Just under 59 mins 59 secs”.

Although it seems like he is joking with the reply, that hasn’t stopped some fans taking to the reply section to urge the band to stretch out the set more – especially with it being their first tour dates since 2009.

“I’m coming all the way back to Manchester from NZ for this… I hope the 59 mins and 59 seconds is worth it,” one wrote, while another simply quipped: “Don’t even joke, lad”.

“hahaha [you’re] so funny, Liam haha. Stop lying now,” a third added, while someone else took the tweet at face value and said that the short set couldn’t justify the ticket prices: “Liam I don’t wanna complain about the price and stuff but c’mon….only an hour?”.

As highlighted by Manchester Evening News, the debate made its way over to Reddit too, where some devoted fans analysed both Liam and Noel’s solo sets over the years to see what gig length they’re comfortable with.

“No way they do anything under two hours after the prices they charged and the media hype… 30-40 minute Noel set to get them to two hours I bet,” one speculated, while another added: “Actually two hours for an oasis/liam/noel show would be a world record in their career.” Find more responses below.

It is worth noting that, although the tweet from Liam seems to be a joke, the singer has dropped numerous lighthearted tweets that later turned out to be true. Earlier last year, for instance, he told a number of fans that Oasis would be announcing a comeback in the coming months – although this was largely written off at the time as not being serious.

He also told his followers on X/Twitter that the reunited Britpop icons had been in the studio working on new material, before then going back on this and saying he only wrote that “for a laugh”.

The massive tour with Oasis is set to begin with the aforementioned huge shows across the UK and Ireland this summer, before the band head overseas for a number of international dates.

So far, little is known about which members will be joining Liam and Noel for the massive gigs, although the singer has been sharing hints about the setlists and the hopes for new material.

In other Liam Gallagher news, the singer recently shared his love of the Sex Pistols, despite Glen Matlock describing Oasis as “boring”. He also issued a response following thousands of tickets to the Oasis reunion shows being cancelled by Ticketmaster, and hit out at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame following Oasis’ second nomination, claiming that it “is for wankers”.
