Hyped NYC experimental rockers YHWH Nailgun announce debut album ’45 Pounds’ with intriguing single ‘Sickle Walk’ 

Rising band YHWH Nailgun have announced details of their debut album ‘45 Pounds’. Find out the details and check out the new single ‘Sickle Walk’ below.

Coming from New York City, YHWH Nailgun (pronounced “yahweh”) have quickly made a name for themselves in the city’s experimental scene, and carved out a signature sound with two EPs so far.

Now, the group have announced details of a debut album called ‘45 Pounds’, and dropped the captivating lead single ‘Sickle Walk’.

Coming in at just under a minute-and-a-half long, the song erupts with a sharp burst of skeletal rhythms and part-spoken, part-sung vocals. Check it out below.

As for the album as a whole, the record will see Sam Pickard (drums), Jack Tobias (synth + electronics), Saguiv Rosenstock (guitar) and lead vocalist Zack Borzon, hone in on the same kinetic energy that first put them on the map, and reaffirm their position in the NYC punk scene.

“45 Pounds is a record of thrilling cacophony. Whirring drums meet the sound of instruments which have been twisted and bent into new shapes, all of which are paired with the arresting growls of lead vocalist Zack Borzone,” reads a new description of the LP.

“Across the record, the four-piece reimagine what is possible within the confines of a band set up, creating music that perfectly encapsulates the information overload of our times.”

Since emerging in the NYC scene, YHWH Nailgun have caught audiences’ attention with sets at festivals including SXSW Austin, The Great Escape, Pitchfork Festival and more. They have also shared the stages with the likes of Chanel Beads, Nourished By Time, Black Midi and more.
