A Kentucky charity organization has apologised after seemingly misleading fans into thinking Taylor Swift will return to touring in 2026.
Last week, Kentucky’s Unbridled Eve charity organisation made headlines when it listed a Taylor Swift package for auction at its upcoming May 2 event, the Derby Gala. Included in the package are a guitar signed by Taylor, and two tickets to a future Swift concert. The organisation wrote on the listing per Rolling Stone: “Two concert tickets during her upcoming 2026 tour.”
The post sent Taylor Swift’s fans into a frenzy, as the pop musician has yet to announce any plans of returning to the live stage since the conclusion of her extensive Eras tour late last year.
Over the weekend, Unbridled Eve issued a public statement, noting that they misspoke in the listing and have since updated the auction piece to reflect “two tickets for a concert during her next tour”. Unbridled Eve also apologised for the mix-up.
They wrote: “In the most recent Unbridled Eve press release, we inadvertently listed one of our auctions items as a ‘Signed guitar by Taylor Swift and two concert tickets during her upcoming 2026 tour.’ Our deepest apologies for getting the Swifties excited, but it should have said ‘Guitar signed by Taylor Swift and two tickets for a concert during her next tour.’ We have no knowledge whatsoever of when that tour will occur.”
Fans are now upset that the organisation is even auctioning off tickets for unannounced shows. Some wrote in the comments of Unbridled Eve’s post: “How do you auction something that you don’t know is ever going to happen???” and “So how do you auction something that doesn’t exist?”.
Since the conclusion of Taylor’s Eras tour, the musician has mostly been out of the public eye, save for a few appearances during the Grammys and awards season earlier this year. She has yet to announce new music or a new tour.
In a reflection of Taylor Swift’s monumental Eras tour, NME wrote pondering about her next steps: “As a prolific writer, with the newfound downtime Swift could very well head back to the studio and pen album number 12. Which leads to a further question: if there is new music, what could the next Taylor Swift tour look like? After the gargantuan, culture-defining Eras Tour, it’s hard to fathom what Swift’s future as a live performer holds. Is it another tour of that scale or something entirely different? Or is there still another way we’ve yet to experience the Eras Tour – through the form of a live album, perhaps? No matter the answers to these questions, one thing is for sure: as we reach the end of the road, Taylor Swift’s next Era is set to begin.”
