The Surrey quintet are nearing the end of their farewell tour, having just played their third-last show at O2 Academy Brixton on April 2. Their final two dates will culminate in a huge show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley for the next two days (April 3 and 4).
But last night, the rockers had a huge surprise up their sleeve. “We were speaking backstage earlier tonight about the relationship we have – not only with London, but this venue in particular”, frontman Josh Franceschi told the crowd. “And we landed on something quite important, which is the following: ‘No one does it better’.”
After launching into the song, (taken from You Me At Six’s third album ‘Sinners Never Sleep‘), Neil quietly walked out on stage midway through the performance and sung with the band – much to fans’ delight.

You Me At Six will soon split, with Franceschi explaining the band’s 20th anniversary was a milestone the band always aimed to retire at.
“When we started YMAS we were kids,” he wrote in a statement. “We only ever wanted longevity, to travel and to experience life as a group of friends. We feel like on the eve of our 20th anniversary as a band, now is a good time to call time.”
Speaking to NME, Franceschi elaborated: “This is like our childhood crush, that we’ve been together with for 20 years and grown up alongside. But it is so much bigger than us five. It’s completely out of our hands what this band means to others. Let’s have the opportunity to say goodbye properly, versus slipping out the back door.”

The tour film is set to get a world premiere on the same day and show a behind-the-scenes access-all-areas film shot across the whole tour. The dates kicked off in North America in October last year and since then have travelled through Europe and Australia, before finishing with a mammoth seven-week stint around the UK and Ireland.
In the short clip shared in January, Simon Neil and twin brothers James and Ben Johnston were seen walking together towards a door, alongside the cryptic caption: “Back at it”. Though we’re not quite sure what they’re up to so far, they will be playing some huge festival slots at Glastonbury, Rock Am Ring, TRNSMT and Rock For People.
