The festival has also confirmed the return of the “mind-blowing” Dragonfly installation that made its debut at last year’s festival. It was built from a decommissioned Royal Navy helicopter and is powered by a unique battery system in conjunction with Glastonbury’s drive towards renewable energy.
This year, the Dragonfly is set to gain “vastly stronger laser wings and new concentric rings of flame.” Glastonbury has also said that “each evening, it will emerge from its ‘nymph state’ and spread its wings as the arena erupts with fire, bass and ethereal luminescence, hosting tens of thousands deep into the night.”
Meanwhile, representatives of the Wadjuk Noongar nation of Perth Australia will return to perform Waraloo, a ceremony that sees the Dragonfly transform at midnight on Friday and Saturday and 23:30 on Sunday. Per a press release, Waraloo “combines an ancient Noongar song about a dragonfly signifying the dawn of a new season with a pumping dancefloor soundscape and signature Arcadia immersion.”
“The reaction to The Dragonfly last year is a moment we’ll never forget – we were absolutely blown away by the scale and energy of the crowds,” said Arcadia founders Pip Rush and Bert Cole. “It was incredibly special to see all our collaborators and the Glastonbury community respond so powerfully to what it represents – the machinery of destruction transformed into unifying art and the collective joy of thousands.
“Our mission has always been to explore the relationship between technology and human intent and it’s hugely exciting to see those ideas resonate, especially at such a key moment with the rise of AI. Can’t wait to be back on the Farm with everyone – not long now.”
The legendary event returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset between June 25 and 29, ahead of a fallow year in 2026. Tickets initially sold out last November, with the official resales then taking place in April.
The first line-up poster revealed that The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo would be joining Neil Young in headlining the Pyramid Stage. Rod Stewart will take on the coveted Legend Slot, as revealed in late 2024.
Other big names across the weekend include Biffy Clyro, The Maccabees, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, RAYE, Wolf Alice, The Prodigy, Doechii, St. Vincent, Deftones, Scissor Sisters, The Libertines, Wet Leg, Weezer, AJ Tracey, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Future Islands, JADE, TV On The Radio, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms, Jorja Smith and Turnstile.
Organisers have gradually announced separate line-up posters for the different stages, areas and venues across the site in recent weeks, and so far, we’ve had the Acoustic Stage, Field Of Avalon, West Holts, Silver Hayes, Croissant Neuf, Shangri-La, Woodsies, Glade, Kidzfield, Glasto Latino and Left Field.
