It looks like Biffy Clyro are teasing a last-minute intimate Glasgow comeback gig

Fans believe Biffy Clyro could be playing a last minute concert in Glasgow tomorrow (May 21).

Eagle-eyed followers have spotted a link to a website to a band by the name of Screwfish that are playing a concert at the SWG3 in Glasgow on Wednesday. The Scottish trio were called Screwfish during their earlier days.

The site has also posted a link to tickets for the show on Ticketmaster which are now on sale here.

It comes ahead of their forthcoming shows at this year’s Eden Sessions and their forthcoming slot at Glastonbury next month. They are also set to play BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend this Friday (May 23), so tomorrow’s show is likely to be a warm up for that.

Elsewhere the band recently teased their return on social media.

In the short clip shared in January, Simon Neil and twin brothers James and Ben Johnston were seen walking together towards a door, alongside the cryptic caption: “Back at it”. Though we’re not quite sure what they’re up to so far, they will be playing further shows at Rock Am Ring, TRNSMT and Rock For People. Visit here for any remaining tickets.

Their last album was 2021’s ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’ but last year they announced limited edition pressings of their first three albums ahead of their tour and took over the TK Maxx Presents Live at The Piece Hall in Halifax to play their first performance since 2022.

The 2021 release followed on from Biffy Clyro’s 2020 LP ‘A Celebration Of Endings‘.

In the time since their last album, Neil has been busy with his long-mooted grindcore side-project Empire State Bastard, which he founded alongside Oceansize‘s Mike Vennart, Slayer‘s Dave Lombardo and Bitch Falcon‘s Naomi Macleod. The group released their debut album ‘Rivers Of Heresy‘ last year.

In spring 2023 the frontman also shared an update on his other projects, Marmaduke Duke and Tippie Toes, saying that records from both were still on the way.

Having first touched on the various side projects back in 2020, the musician told NME in 2023 that music with Tippie Toes was further along than that of Marmaduke Duke. “Well believe it or not, I did just spend two weeks working on Tippie Toes. We do have an album’s worth of material, we just need to edit it,” he said in the In Conversation chat. “I don’t want to be flippant with music and would never put it out because it’s almost ready. Tippie Toes is going to have a purpose and be special.”

He continued: “Marmaduke Duke is already special and will complete that, which John [JP Reid, Sucioperro] and I are a bit scared of.”

“Once that’s done, it’s over and the Duke is dead. But, I don’t want to distract from this. This has got a bit of momentum for us, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Biffy is also always at the top of my list, that’s who I am. I need to make time for my four wives.”
