Liam Gallagher will become a grandfather for the first time after his eldest daughter Molly Moorish announced that she was pregnant.

Moorish confirmed on her Instagram that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, footballer Nathaniel Phillips. They have been together since 2022. The model and activist shared a carousel of photos of her with Phillips and baby clothes with the caption ‘bulking season’.

Moorish’s mother is the former Oasis frontman’s former partner Lisa Moorish –singer of the band Kill City, who in 1995 provided backing vocals on an acoustic version Oasis’ ‘Fade Way’. Gallagher did not meet Moorish until 2018, when she was 21 years old, revealing they had connected when he shared a photo of himself meeting Molly along with his sons Gene and Lennon. They’ve since become close, with Gallagher’s relationship with his daughter being touched upon in new documentary As It Was.

“I don’t have any anger,” Moorish told The Sunday Times in 2019 when asked about her experience growing up without Gallagher in her life. “I’m 21 now. I’m actually thankful for how I was brought up with my mum and how my life’s been.

“I wouldn’t be who I am now if…. It’s all happened the way it was meant to happen. We just got on and I’m happy to have him now.”

In 2017, Gallagher had said that Moorish had been “best off with her mum” but said he was open to meeting her.

“The girl’s been looked after and clothed and fed and sent to lovely schools,” Gallagher said in an interview with GQ. “I bought them a house and all that tack. I just think she’s best off with her mum…They aren’t good when they are forced, these things. I think we leave it be. See what happens. If it happens it happens. Certainly, wouldn’t turn her away, man. Let it be.”

“She’s welcome in my world and that, you know what I mean? Without a doubt. But I just ain’t met her because her mam’s … Listen, we don’t work. We don’t get on.”

After they met, Gallagher wrote the song ‘Now That I’ve Found You’ in honour of Moorish, which appeared on his 2019 album ‘Why Me? Why Not’.

In other news, Gallagher has cast doubt over claims from the band’s manager that Oasis have no intentions of sharing any new material.

Manager Alec McKinlay made headlines when he dismissed any hopes of new material from the Britpop icons and said they had no intention of announcing any more tour dates either. “This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press,” he said. “It’s a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. And no, there’s no plan for any new music.”

Responding to one fan on X/Twitter who said it didn’t feel “very biblical” for McKinlay to dismiss all future plans, the singer responded: “Neither do I and the only people that will be making any kind of decisions on the future of OASIS will be ME n RKID so let’s just take it one day at a time.”

Later, the frontman doubled down on his stance, telling another fan who thought “there must be a degree of truth” to the manager’s comments that McKinley is “the accountant” for the band.

Then, when pressed further by another fan to directly say if the manager was lying, Gallagher caused further confusion when he made the tongue-in-cheek response: “Am I?”
