Scorpions have announced the postponement of their upcoming 60th anniversary Las Vegas residency run to allow drummer Mikkey Dee to recover from illness.
He revealed that had undergone various surgeries and was back home and in recovery, but that he was close to death at one point. He found out about the condition after spraining his ankle, and said in December: “It was surgery right away, the first of three. They cut away what was dead and infected and badly infested. It was not a good journey I was on… Another day and I’d be playing drums with Lemmy in heaven. I can say that.”
This past weekend, Scorpions – who Mikkey has been drumming for since 2016 – took to social media to confirm they would be pushing the start of their Las Vegas residency so Dee would have more time to recover.
The residency was originally announced for February, but will now kick off in August. They wrote: “We regret to inform you that due to Mikkey Dee’s ongoing recovery from his recent hospitalization, we have made the decision to postpone our Coming Home to Las Vegas Residency to August 2025. The health and well-being of our brother is of the utmost importance. We wish Mikkey a full and speedy recovery and look forward to rocking with you all again soon!”
Tickets that have already been purchased for the residency will be honoured at the new dates – you can get your tickets here.

It is worth noting that while the band’s Las Vegas residency has been moved back, they are due to hit the road in mid-March, where they’ll perform in Mexico City. The following month, they’ll kick off a south American tour throughout April and early May.
Lemmy revealed his fondness for the club back in 2016, when he told The Hollywood Times that he enjoyed spending time there when he wasn’t on the road. “Stringfellows in London… it’s a high-end strip club. There’s a big welcome there, always. I’ve known the owner, Peter, since 1964,” he said.
