Netflix has released a new teaser for upcoming K-drama series Melo Movie, starring Choi Woo-sik and Park Bo-young. Here’s everything you need to know about the new series.

What is the plot of Melo Movie?

Melo Movie is a romantic comedy K-drama series that follows the life of Go-gyeom, a film buff and extra who later becomes a film critic. The series starts when he reunites with an aspiring film director Kim Mu-bee, known for her hatred of movies, after a mysterious incident that occurred years ago drove them apart. On Melo Movie, the pair navigate love and career ambitions as they work to endure personal traumas and hardships of the film industry.

Who is in the cast of the new Netflix series?

Choi Woo-sik of Parasite and Our Beloved Summer fame will star as Go-gyeom. Meanwhile, Park Bo-young, known for her leading roles in hit dramas such as Daily Dose of Sunshine and Doom At Your Service, portrays Kim Mu-bee.

Love and Leashes‘ Lee Jun-young and Parasyte: The Grey‘s Jeon So-nee also join the supporting cast as as Hong Si-jun and Son Ju-ah, respectively. Si-jun is described as a genius but unknown songwriter, while Ju-ah is a screenwriter on the series.

Other actors who will appear in Melo Movie also include Crazy Love’s Kim Jae-wook and Night Has Come’s Cha Woo-min. The K-drama was penned by Our Beloved Summer screenwriter Lee Na-eun and helmed by director Oh Choong-hwan, known for his acclaimed work on Hotel Del Luna and Castaway Diva.

Is there a trailer for Netflix’s Melo Movie?

On January 17, Netflix dropped the first teaser for Melo Movie. The clip starts with Go-gyeom and Mu-bee’s rough first encounters with each other in a rural South Korean town, which leads to an unlikely friendship and eventual romance between the pair.

Despite their chemistry, they lose contact with each other as they enter adulthood. When Mu-bee makes her directorial debut, she is unwittingly reunited with film critic Go-gyeom, making them enemies once more.
