The 1975 remove track from album on streaming because Matty Healy doesn’t like it anymore

The 1975 have removed a track from their latest album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ on streaming platforms – find out more below.

Yesterday (November 4), fans noticed that the fan-favourite track ‘Human Too’ from The 1975’s 2022 album was missing from streaming platforms, leading to a flurry of questions and comments left on the band’s social media pages.

This prompted a response from frontman Matty Healy on Reddit, who explained: “‘Human Too’ was removed from the album so the album is more how I want it to be.” He went on to assure fans that they can still listen to the track through the album’s ‘previous physical release’, suggesting that future reissues of the album will also omit the track.

Healy then went on to share that he “doubt[s] the same will happen with any other records as I am pretty happy with them,” but noted that ‘What Should I Say’ from ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ “may also be removed, who knows”.

A fan on Reddit has since shared a post begging Healy to keep ‘What Should I Say’ on streaming, prompting the frontman to respond: “Ok no worries x”.

While ‘Human Too’ is no longer on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms, it is still available on YouTube – you can listen to it below.

‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ scored a four-star review from NME, with El Hunt writing: “Combining the band’s slightly sidelined knack for writing huge, immediately memorable pop bangers with the more complex, neurotic lyrical voice of The 1975’s more recent releases, ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ feels like the right next step after pushing experimental excess to its logical conclusion, and is comparatively lean with just eleven tracks to its name.”

Earlier this year, The 1975 confirmed that their four-star headline Glastonbury performance would be their only show of 2025, and their manager and Dirty Hit label boss Jamie Oborne added that they were finalising their “pretty extraordinary” new album – they also seemingly teased the upcoming album in the closing seconds of their set.

The slot at Glasto came on the heels of their last global tour, which ended in March 2024. Following the run of shows being completed, the members went on an “indefinite hiatus” shortly afterwards. Speculation about a new era has been rife since The 1975 confirmed their return to the live stage, changed their logo and updated their social media profiles.

Oborne went on to share that the follow-up to 2022’s acclaimed ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language‘ was on the way, saying: “They’re making a record at the moment. I don’t know when it will come out, but they’re making one.”
