Brian

BrianHi, I do the over night shift here on Channel X94, happy reading!

I was born near Chicago, raised in Cincinnati and I grew up in Utah.  I have no loyalties to Chi-Town, but if you talk trash on my Cincinnati Reds, Bengals or Utah Jazz you will get a pounding.  I know I know... 2007-8 is not a good year for any of them.

I started in radio when I was 17 at my high school station KOHS 91.7.  It was there that I began to tolerate the sound of my own voice and where I fell in love with alternative rock music.  It was a perfect match. Then I graduated and I was forced to try to get a real job in radio.  My first pro gig was at KXRK, X96 in Salt Lake City.  I lasted about 11 weeks doing overnights and decided to go to college instead.  What college did I choose?  The closest one with a radio station, …Weber State.

Weber State propelled me back to the Salt Lake Market at “107.5 The End.”  I worked there until I left on and LDS mission to New Hampshire/Maine/Vermont.  After the two year mission I worked at a pizza place and as a security guard.  It was then that I found the love of my life, Kristin.  We have been married four years and we have one daughter.

I broke back into radio in 2004 at a small sports station in Provo, UT.  I moved up to the big leagues in Salt Lake again later that year.  I spent two years with 94.9 “The Blaze” and 107.9 “The Mix.”  In Dec of ’06 I parted ways with them to finish my education and give up radio.  That didn’t last long.  In April of 2007 I graduated from UVSC with a B.S. in History Education.

In May of ’07 I began to hear voices.  Not “If you build it he will come,” but instead, “Go to where the dinosaurs are!” Ok, I am kidding but Vernal is one of the last places I thought I would be. The move to Vernal happened because I couldn’t find a full-time teaching job in a place I wanted to be.  I started to look into radio stations again and that’s when I came in contact with Charlie and KXRQ.  They brought me here to work radio and while here I have also been able to find full time job with the school district as the CEPP director, I run the CAN-DO crew.

Thanks for making my move here exceptional!

Take a listen to some of my personal all-time favorites.  I will add new ones frequently.
