Lynyrd Skynyrd to celebrate 50 years with 2025 UK arena tour

Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced a series of UK arena tour dates to celebrate 50 years as a band. Find ticket details below.

Announced today (January 21), the new tour dates will mark the first time the band have headed to the UK since 2019. It will also see them celebrate half a century since they shared their iconic debut album ‘Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd’.

Four new dates have been shared, kicking off on July 15 with an opening night at the AO Arena in Manchester.

From there, the tour will continue the following night with a stop at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, before a night at the Brighton Centre on July 18. Finally, the last tour date lined-up will see them head to London for a final show at the OVO Arena in Wembley on July 19.

All tour dates will see the band joined by Blackberry Smoke as special guests, and £1 from every ticket sold will go to supporting grassroots music via the newly launched Live Trust.

Speaking about the new tour, Johnny Van Zant – lead vocalist and brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant – said: “It’s about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there, playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music.”

The ‘Celebrating 50 Years of Lynyrd Skynyrd’ UK tour dates are:

JULY 2025 
15 – Manchester, AO Arena 
16 – Birmingham, Utilita Arena 
18 – Brighton, Centre 
19 – London, OVO Arena Wembley

The tour announcement comes as, back in 2023, the band announced that they would be continuing following the passing of founding member and guitarist Gary Rossington.

His death was confirmed in a Facebook Post on the band’s official page. It read: “It is with our deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington”.

Johnny Van Zandt – who took over 10 years after the death of his brother and original frontman Ronnie Van Zandt – shared: “Gary, along with my brother Ronnie and Allen started this band and left us all a legacy of music that has stood the test of time, and crossed three generations of fans.”

He continued: “The music they created, and the music we created, together since 1987, was always meant to be experienced live. We have come together with the founding band member estates, and everyone involved, and feel the music should continue for everyone to love and enjoy. So we will continue to perform for the Skynyrd Nation.”

Guitarist Allen Collins passed away in 1990 aged 37, while drummer Bob Burns died in a car crash in 2015 aged 64, and bassist Larry Junstrom died in 2019 aged 70.

Rossington was the only member of Lynyrd Skynyrd to play on all of their albums and was the last surviving member of the original line-up.
