VEGYN has announced a reimagining of AIR‘s iconic 1998 album ‘Moon Safari’,  expected to be out in April.

Titled ‘Blue Moon Safari’, the VEGYN version of the project is due out on April 12 – and will see the electronic producer put his own twist on the French band’s classic debut album.

The original ‘Moon Safari’ became known for its dreamy synths, groovy bass lines, and rich melodies – cementing itself as a melodic, ambient-pop classic. VEGYN’s version of the AIR album will add experimental soundscaping, along with an energised lease of life.

AIR have recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of ‘Moon Safari’ by playing the project live for the first time. The duo have played 77 shows across Europe, North America, Australia, Latin America and Asia.

In a 5-star review of their show at the London Collosium last March, NME‘s Andrew Trendell commended the duo for their ability to make the experience transcendental and atmospheric – noting it as a “luxury for the eyes and ears”.

It reads: “The pure musicianship would have been enough (it beggars belief that a trio can create such a galaxy of sound), but the whole experience is one that lifts you from your seat. Never a lull, the show is one of delicious Versailles luxury for the eyes and ears. It’s heartening to see so many concert-goers regularly turning to their pals in glee, mouthing what we can only assume is the French for “holy shit!”

“It takes a certain dedication to play an album from top to bottom, but Air have created an immersive universe for ‘Moon Safari’. Rather than yearning for the past, the band suspend us in time with thick grooves and sheer class – a constant joy from start to finish. See this show at all costs.”
