The Mighty Hoopla festival has added “gay icon” Jane McDonald to its 2026 line-up.
The two-day event will be held at London’s Brockwell Park on May 30 and 31 next year. The first wave of names on the line-up were shared on Monday (November 10) – with Lily Allen and Scissor Sisters announced as headliners.
Others joining them on the bill include Jessie J, Five, JLS, Todrick Hall, Agnes, Alexandra Burke, Louise, Cascada, Estelle, Heather Small, Tulisa, The Wanted 2.0, and Liberty X.
Now, it has been confirmed that McDonald will perform on the Gay Icon Slot on the Sunday, for her first ever festival performance. The slot is an annual tradition much like the Glastonbury Legends Slot.
“Did somebody ask for a gay icon?” McDonald said upon on her confirmation. “Well it’s me, I’m here darlings. Yes, I’m going to be at the Mighty Hoopla on the Icon Slot.
“Big band, big vocals, in fact it’s gonna be bloody lovely. Come on you know you want to come.”
She added: “What am I gonna sing? And what am I gonna wear?”
You can visit here to buy any remaining tickets for her performance.
It comes after tickets for next year’s Mighty Hoopla festival saw over 35,000 being sold in just 30 minutes earlier this week.
The first night of Mighty Hoopla 2026 will see Lily Allen headline, and comes on the heels of her dropping ‘West End Girl’ – her first album since 2018’s ‘No Shame’. The album, which took a deep look into her split from Stranger Things star David Harbour, instantly became a fan favourite and was given a glowing four-star review from NME.
It also comes after the singer and actor added extra shows to her 2026 UK headline tour due to huge demand.
The 2026 edition of Mighty Hoopla will also see the return of The Bump, which welcomes a host of DJs and live performers, and will see sets from Trixie Mattel and Horse Meat Disco.
Also returning is Queertopia, a “specially crafted stage showcasing the best up and coming names within the queer space”. Next year it will see appearances from Empress Of and Mykki Blanco. More names for Mighty Hoopla 2026 will be shared at a later date.
Scissor Sisters’ singer Jake Shears will be appearing at the festival for the second year in a row when he headlines with the band in 2026. Earlier this summer, he made a surprise appearance during Kesha’s set – joining her to perform ‘We R Who We R’ and ‘Let’s Have A Kiki’.
Other performers this summer included Ciara, who was a headliner alongside Kesha, as well as Kate Nash, Pixie Lott, Loreen, Vengaboys, Mutya, Jamelia, Jojo, Erika Jayne, G Flip, and Daniel Bedingfield.
